This past weekend we drove up to Amsterdam for a long weekend. We timed our trip for spring so that we could check out the tulip festival at the Keukenhof Gardens which are about a 30 minute train and bus ride from Amsterdam. The gardens are amazing and well worth a visit; we had heard that it was really something, but you can only really appreciate it in person. There are a few pictures from Keukenhof below that should give you an idea of what its like.
We had fun in Amsterdam and hit all the must-see locales - Anne Frank House, Van Gogh and Rijksmusems, canal boat tour, the Heineken Tour, and the red light district. Other than our half day at Keukenhof, the weather was typical Amsterdam - cold and rainy, so we didn't feel too bad about staying inside and not walking about a bit more. Because of the weather we didn't get very many shots of the city, but there are some canal shots and pictures from the Heineken tour for you to check out (sorry, no shots from the red light district).
