Illumination of the Heidelberg castle

So I'm a little slow - I'm finally posting our pictures from last weekend. Saturday we drove down to Heidelberg with friends to see the illumination of the castle. The illumination of the castle is not part of the well known Rhine A Flame, which moves from town to town along the Rhine during the summer with fireworks being launched from the castles along the way. Instead, this is a reenactment of a French bombing during the 1600's.

A trip to Heidelberg is always nice, but what makes the trip worth it is a taco or gyro at Viva Mexico; by far the best Mexican food in Germany.

Shelly's grandmother, mom and brother arrive tomorrow. We're giving them tomorrow to get adjusted and then we're off to Salzburg, Munich and Switzerland. None of them have been to Europe so we're trying to hit as many of the highlights of central Europe as we can in 8 days. Betty is staying an additional 10 days after Brian and Vicki leave on the 27th.

German cuisine does leave something to be desired. However, the Italian food here is very good. Brian took an informal survey of pizza, lasagne and ice cream and it appeared to us that the results were favorable.
